First Grade High Frequency Words for Reading

These are the 100 most frequently used words in books. Please practice a few at a time by placing

them on index cards and gradually add new words as they master their original words. Because of

our complex English language the children will not be able to learn these words by sounding out.

They will have to learn them by sight.

  • ABC chart to help children learn letter recognition and matching sounds.
