4th Grade

Fourth Graders are PHENOMENAL! Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Jackson, Mr. Jones and Mr. Philippus welcome you to fourth grade.
COLORADO HISTORY
	Fourth graders enjoy studying Colorado History. We learn about Native Americans, Explorers, Trappers & Traders, Miners, Spanish Americans, Ranchers & Farmers and Early European American Pioneers
MATH

READING
	Fourth graders need to read 30+ minutes each day at home. Students are to read at least one chapter book each month. Reading books must be at the student's individual reading level. Students should check with their teacher about individual classroom reading requirements.
WRITING
	We use the district spelling program Spell-to-Excel Writing will be developed across the curriculum with students having journals for writing, social studies (Colorado History) and science. Students will write daily in class. Students will develop writing skills for writing: personal narratives, process (how-to) papers, poetry, content reports, content summary paragraphs
SCIENCE
	A special thank you to our wonderful CPTO for providing a grant for Space Explorers. Fourth grade science units are Water, Space, Colorado Wildlife and Colorado Life Zones. Have your child show you what they are learning on the Space Explorers website.
