We are so relieved to be able to connect with you and our amazing students. It has been a long few weeks and the world has changed so much. We want you to know that we are here to support you in any way we can. Please be patient with us as we develop the most effective ways to engage and excite our learners while not placing any added pressure on you.
This first week we will focus on reconnecting with our students through videos and messages. We will also be supporting you and your child as they get signed on to their devices and connect to their Class Dojo Portfolio page.
There will be a weekly menu of activities posted on ClassDojo every Monday morning (This week, we will begin on Wednesday). It is very important that your student logs on each Monday morning to see what is waiting for them.
In addition, our reading expectation remains the same. All students should be reading 20 minutes per day. That can include independent reading, reading online (EPIC, PebbleGo, etc.) or being read to by a family member.
We will make the best of this challenging situation and hopefully, when it passes, we will all be stronger, smarter and more connected than ever.
With love and support,
Mrs. Deakin: email@example.com
Mrs. Kless: firstname.lastname@example.org
Ms. Marriott: email@example.com
Attendance will be taken each Friday. We will base attendance on evidence of learning through books read on Epic, student writing and student math work.
Please have these items ready each day for learning.
Pencil & sharpener
Notebook with lined paper, (loose sheets of lined or blank paper will work, too)
Crayons, colored pencils or markers
20 Counters (noodles, cereal, beans, pennies or other small items that are easy to count)
You can connect with your child's teacher at any time through ClassDojo or email. If you would like us to call you, please send a message with your phone number and we will reach out during the hours below:
Tuesday: 10:00-11:00am & 3:00-4:00pm
Thursday: 10:00-11:00am & 3:00-4:00pm
We will continue to use the same 1-4 grading system throughout this period of remote learning. We are aware of the challenges we are all facing in these circumstances so we will be considering all of those factors.
