Centennial staff connect with community using an ofrenda
- Care
- Engage
Our amazing and brand new Family Outreach Liaison, Dyann Malfavon, and Registrar, Christa Constancio, created a beautiful way to connect to our community. To honor the holiday, Día de Muertos, they created a community ofrenda and invited all members of our Centennial community to honor their loved ones by contributing pictures or writing their names on paper butterflies and placing them on the ofrenda. Additionally, they educated our community of the purpose of the Día de Muertos, so that even those that normally don't celebrate the holiday could feel a sense of belonging and inclusion. It was such a joy to even see former students add to the ofrenda! We are so grateful to have Dyann and Christa representing our Centennial value of belonging.
