Greetings! My name is Kim Williams. I received my BA from CU Boulder in 1987 and began teaching at Centennial in the fall of 1988. Having taught art at Centennial for the past 25 years and having maintained relationships with many former students, I have come to believe that a child's elementary school experiences with the visual arts greatly affect their opinions of art throughout their entire lives. Therefore, it is very important to me that I not only expose the students to a broad variety of artistic experiences, expressions and mediums, but that each lesson is structured in such a way that every child is given the tools needed to succeed. I am equally dedicated to providing for our students an environment in which they feel safe and supported enough in order to take risks and to grow in their explorations of the visual arts as a means of personal expression.
Each and every year I am excited and amazed by our students’ talent, creativity and love of the visual arts am grateful for having been given the opportunity to be apart of their growth as artists. Thank you for your continued support of the visual arts at Centennial and for providing to me such wonderful students to teach, as well as from whom to learn!
