Welcome/ Bienvenidos to Centennial Elementary School. I am thrilled to be a part of the staff here at Centennial Elementary! I have taught in Colorado, Texas, and Tennessee. My primary background has been in teaching Spanish and ELD (English Language Development)/ ELD at the high school and middle school levels. One very interesting aspect of my background is that I have taught every grade from kindergarten to twelth grade in some capacity. Furthermore, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Business from Pennsylvania State University. My teacher certification was completed at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas; and I am accredited to teach ELD through Metropolitan State University of Denver.
In my spare time, my family is my biggest priority. My husband and I have lived in Colorado for over 25 years, and we love this state! We have two sons of whom we are very proud. One is a 23-year old who works for the city of Fort Collins; he has a background in environmental science. Our youngest son is a junior at Horizon High School; he has many passions, but his absolute favorite is our dog named Coda. As a family, we love to be outdoors, to boat, to hike, to ski, and to get together with friends. Music and reading bring me great pleasure as well.
This year, as always, I will be helping our English language learners to grow in the domains of speaking, listening, reading, and writing. There will be a huge emphasis on writing this year, and I will be co-teaching with third, fourth, and fifth grade teachers to enhance instruction.
I look forward to working with your student and you in this upcoming school year!
